PAGOH: MJARC received a visit by Prof. Datuk Ir. Dr. Wahid bin Omar, Vice-Chancellor, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in conjunction with a ‘Bengkel Halatuju UTM Pagoh’ which took place on 16 and 17 August 2020. Also present were several executive committees from UTM itself including Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Registrar, Bursar, and Deans.

Among the focus of the visit is to see the implementation and potential of subcritical water technology in the research centre. The technology called multipurpose-recycling machine (MRM) is used to treat various organic solid waste (food waste, biomass waste, agricultural industry waste, etc.) to produce high-quality products such as organic fertilizer, soil nursing agent, and animal feed.

During the visit, Dr. Pramila Tamunaidu, manager of MJARC had given a briefing on MJARC’s developments and an introduction to subcritical water (SCW) technology. The briefing on the technology was focused on the research niche area and the potential impact of the technology on the environment and community. It is hoped that this short visit can produce a high impact for UTM and the community in particular.
