MALAYSIA-JAPAN ADVANCED RESEARCH CENTRE (MJARC)
Waste Transformation Research Centre
About MJARC
Malaysia-Japan Advanced Research Centre (MJARC) is a new and vibrant entity at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kampus Pagoh, Johor. We are undertaking pioneering research in waste management and waste processing technologies. We are also developing new technologies to transform materials that are currently considered waste into high-value products and energy. The waste is treated using subcritical water reactor system at our facility. It is a green technology because unlike conventional incinerator that use fuel to burn the waste which later needs to be disposed, our subcritical water reactor system uses water at low temperature and pressure to treat the waste without any carbon emission or dioxins.
